Game Notes: Stallions vs #16 Grand Valley

OPPONENT: #16 Grand Valley State University Lakers - 9-4-2

This Stallions continue their tough schedule with another nationally ranked opponent as Grand Valley is ranked #16 in the latest ACHA polls. Grand Valley was off to a quick start and beat Eastern 8-1 in their last game. The Lakers has lost 4 of their last 5 with 2 losses each to Davenport and Purdue Northwest.

Both of this weekend's game count as GLCHL league games.

Shane Haggerty leads the Lakes with 19 points (6-13) while Devin Naidow leads the team in net with a 6-3-1-1 record.

The teams play Friday night at Wings West Ice Arena and Saturday night at 7:30 pm Eastern at Griff's Georgetown Ice Arena.

The league uses a 3 point game system with teams playing once or twice each season (based on the higher ranked team's preference.) A regulation win is worth 3 points, an overtime or shootout win is worth 2 points and a overtime or shootout loss is worth one point. If teams only play one time, that game is worth 6 points and the values are doubled.

This weekend will the be Stallions' 7th and 8th league games out of 17 scheduled. The only 6 point game on the Stallions schedule will be the away game vs Adrian on January 11th.

Last Action

The Stallions lost two games before Thanksgiving to Purdue Northwest. Friday's game was 0-8 and Saturday's game was 1-7 with Blake Siewertsen getting the lone goal for the Stallions.

The Push to the End of the Semester

The Stallions have one last game this semester - a Sunday Matinee vs the Oregon Ducks on Sunday, December 10. This will be the first contest ever between the Stallions and the Oregon Ducks. This game will be played at LAWSON ICE ARENA.


Saturday, December 2 at 7:30 pm vs Grand Valley State University at Griff's Georgetown Ice Arena.

Sunday, December 10 at 2:00 pm vs University of Oregon Ducks at LAWSON ICE ARENA.
