Stallions to Broncos

Western Michigan University is unique in that we are the only school to have both an NCAA Division I Hockey program and an ACHA Division I program.

The Broncos are operated by University Athletics and the Stallions are a student organization operating as part of the Sports Club Council. The two programs are not connected financially or by structure, but the programs are friendly and both seek to deliver winning programs at the national level.

While is it uncommon, a few Stallions have been able to make the jump to the WMU Bronco Hockey Team. Once a player is rostered at the NCAA level, they are not able to play for the Stallions again that season.
