This is the second of three weeks that the Stallions face a ranked opponent. Davenport was #18 last week and Grand Valley is ranked # The Pride are having an outstanding season, currently ranked #13 in the ACHA. Sam Bourages leads the team in scoring (14-9-23) with 3 others tied at 14 points.
Both of this weekend's game count as GLCHL league games.
The teams play Friday night at Wings West Ice Arena and Saturday night at 7pm Central / 8 pm Eastern at Wings West Ice Arena.
Last Action
The Stallions played tough agaist the Panthers over the weekend, but still ended up losing 0-6 in GR and 2-4 at home.
On Saturday, the Stallions were tied in the third and had many chances, but just couldn't convert. A goal was waived off by the referees when they deemed a Stallion had kicked the puck in. This was surprising as the player was on his face sliding past the net, but it didn't count. That shifted the momentum and the Panthers scored shortly afterwards and the Stallions couldn't score on a late powerplay.
Stallion goals were scored by #17 Michael Stein (4) on the powerplay and #18 Layne Burbaker-Egner (2).
The Push to the End of the Semester
The Stallions are entering a series of league games over the next few weekends. The Stallions play home and home series against Purdue University Northwest on November 17 and 18, Grand Valley State University on December 1 and 2 and finish the Fall Semester with a Sunday Matinee vs the Oregon Ducks on Sunday, December 10.
